Vivienda unifamiliar Mirador del Castillo
The project involved the complete remodelling of a historic home built in 1910 by the architect Fernando Navarro. The purpose was to transform the one-storey dwelling of approximately 97m2 into a three-storey single family home of 225m2 with a terrace on the top floor.
The property is located on Paseo de San Antonio, where one can still find a few buildings from the early 20th century. The location is privileged as the main facade faces Paseo de San Antonio and the recently restored Castillo de Mata, and thus offers magnificent views. The back of the property, which faces Calle Dolly, allows for the construction of a garage. The area offers a multitude of cultural and outdoor activities. Additionally,CalleTriana, the most important commercial and leisure centre of Las Palmas is nearby.
History and modernity
The original structure, just one floor, was modified in order to make the new distribution possible, but we maintained the elements that rendered the house unique, such as the facade, the carpentry, the thick walls of pozzolana and the flooring of hydraulic cement tiles with geometric patterns, some of which we were able to recover from old wardrobes. We added the first floor and the attic to the ground floor in order to create a building that is a balanced combination of historical elements from the early 20th century and clean contemporary lines.
Energy efficiency and comfort
Historic buildings can also be energy efficient. Belvedere Capital is committed to providing installations that will create a maximum comfort and guarantee optimal energy consumption. In this property, we achieve a high standard of energy efficiency, an unusual feat in the Canary Islands. The garage will be suited with a quick electric vehicle charger plug.
